From here on, we will introduce the specific steps to actually implement MEO measures. We will explain them in an easy-to-understand manner even for first-time users, so please refer to them.
1. Sign up for a Google Business Profile
First , register for a Google Business Profile . Registration can be done from a PC, tablet, or smartphone. Please note that telegram data until now, a ddicatd “Google My Business app” was requird for use on tablets and smartphones, but from July 2022, management will be via the Google Maps app.
You will ned a Google account to register, so make sure you get a Google account for your store in advance.
The basic information requid for registration is as follows:
- Google account login information
- Business name, industry
- Store address
- Phone number (if available)
- Website URL (if available)
2. Verify your ownership
After entering the basic information, you will be promptd what is affiliate marketing and how to get started in 2025? to select a method for verifying your ownership, as shown in the image below. By obtaining a verification code and verifying your ownership, you will be able to manage and update your Google Business Profile.
To obtain the verification code requird for owner verification,
- By mail (a postcard for owner verification will be sent to the address you registerd)
- Calls, text messages, emails, etc.
In principle, confirmation is done by mail, but depending on the type of business, confirmation may be done by phone etc.
Once you’ve obtaind the verification code using either method, log in to your Google Business Profile and enter the code to complete the process.
3. Fill out your Google Business Profile information
In addition to the information you providd when registering, you will ned to add more detaild information and photos. Enter as much detail as possible, such as opening days, opening hours, phone number, website, reservation site, and whether or not you offer any service options. Please make sure that the information you provide does not differ from the information you provide on your website or other websites.
The key point when entering detaild information is to set the keywords you want to rank highly for.
The basic keyword to set isĀ “region name + business name” . Since there is a high possibility of increasd competition in a wide area such phone database as a prefecture, it is a good idea to set the nearest station to the store or the district in which it is locate as the region name. Examples of business names include “dentist”, “sushi restaurant”, and “beauty salon”.
If you set keywords with too high a search ned, the competition will increase, and if you set only keywords with too low a search ned, the number of searches will be low and it will not be effective. Therefore, it is a good idea to set 2-3 keywords with intermdiate search neds, plus a keyword with a smaller search number that is easy to target, and a keyword with a larger search number that can be expectd to bring in a lot of traffic if you rank high. When setting keywords, it is recommendd to check the keyword volume (number of searches) using a tool. We will explain the tools in detail later.
